Flow Of Communications



In an organization, communication flows in various directions:

Downward communication: 
Downwards communication floes from people at higher level to those at lower levels in the organization hierarchy

Upward Communication: 
This communication travels from surbordinates to superiors and continues up the organizational hierarchy

Crosswise communication:
It includes the horizontal flow of information between people on the same level or similar organizational levels and diagonal flow between persons at differents who have no direct reporting relationships



Importance Of Communication In Business


These are six importance of communication in business:

  • -          To establish and disseminate goals of an organization
  • -          To develop plans for their achievement
  • -          To organize human and other resources in the most effective and efficient way
  • -          To select, develop and appraise members of the organization
  • -          To lead, direct and motivate people
  • -          To control perfromance
